Prior to launching Esoteric Enterprises, Mr. Young served as a registered players' agent with the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 6 years. He then became the Director of Economic Development and Chair/President of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Black Chamber of Commerce,
respectively. From there, he joined Bank of America’s Supplier Diversity team as their Supplier Development and Market Integration Manager, overseeing and managing the enterprises’ global minority business referral program. He was then recruited by commercial real estate titan Cushman & Wakefield to oversee and manage their Supplier Diversity efforts on their Bank of America account.
Mr. Young has served on the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce & Charlotte Regional Business Alliance
Boards of Directors; the City of Charlotte's CLT Business Inclusion (CBI) Advisory Committee; the Charlotte Black Political Caucus - Legislative Committee Chair; the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) Economics & Personal Finance Advisory Committee; and, the City of Charlotte's Unified
Development Ordinance (UDO)/Zoning Board of Adjustment, amongst others. In 2023, he was recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal, being named to their 'Power 100 of Charlotte' list for Top DEI Leaders in the region. In 2024, he was given the Charlotte Business Journal's prestigious 40
Under 40 award.

Mr. Young is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, with a B.A. in Political Science. He is passionate about community having ran for city council, and serving as a High School mentor and basketball coach in Charlotte, NC. He is father to an amazing daughter, Makayla.
